SessionGuard

Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
SessionGuard is fully local. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with any server or third party.

What SessionGuard Does

SessionGuard is a Chrome extension that keeps web application sessions alive by periodically sending requests to user-specified sites and automatically clearing stale cookies when a session expires.

Data We Collect

We collect no data whatsoever. Specifically:

Local Storage Only

SessionGuard stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API:

This data never leaves your device. It is not synced to any server, not accessible to any website, and not shared with anyone.

Permissions Explained

Third-Party Services

SessionGuard uses Google's favicon service (www.google.com/s2/favicons) to display site icons in the popup. This is a standard public API used by many browser extensions and applications. The only information sent is the domain name of sites you add. No personal data is included.

Other than this favicon lookup, SessionGuard makes no requests to any third-party service.

Keep-Alive Requests

SessionGuard sends periodic HTTP requests to sites you explicitly add to the monitoring list. These requests use your existing browser session cookies (the same credentials your browser already uses). No additional data is included. These requests are functionally identical to you manually refreshing the page.

Children's Privacy

SessionGuard is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
